Own The Moment is a Trotting Mare by Majestic Son out of Corker Moment. Mo as we call her around the barn, had been left down the back paddock so to speak, for a bit over three years since her last prep as a 2yo, with her previous owner not enthused to put her back in training due to some behavior problems with kicking the cart and not wanting to go around the track.
With Mos fate on the line, Maria decided to give her a chance at life and is very pleased with her progress. It has taken many months of patience and compassion to get this girl’s mind on the job and thinking she wants to be a racehorse. That’s the key here, they have to want to do it, Maria’s technique is to not push them what so ever, let them come to it in there own time.
Well it’s fair to say Maria’s patience is now being rewarded as Mo has now qualified and had her first few race starts as a now 7 year old. She has come a long way and showing ability, the only way is up for her 🙂 Own The Moment will become a broodmare when she is retired from racing.
